Flake Systems · Raleigh, NC

The workhorse floor that happens to be beautiful.

Full-broadcast vinyl flake is what we recommend for most garages, and it's what most of our own crew has at home. Texture that hides everything, grip you can feel, and a granite-like finish in whatever palette matches your house.

Full Broadcast Only

Why we refuse to do 'sprinkle' flake

There are two ways to install flake. A partial broadcast scatters a light handful of flake into the base coat — it’s cheap, fast, and every imperfection, roller mark, and future scratch shows straight through. A full broadcast throws flake to complete rejection: the floor literally can’t absorb another chip. Excess is scraped and recovered, and what remains is a dense, uniform, three-dimensional surface.

We only install full broadcast. It uses several times the material, and it’s the difference between a floor that looks like granite and a floor that looks like someone seasoned the concrete.

The flake itself does real work: it adds natural slip resistance, hides dust and tire marks between cleanings, and masks the crack repairs and slab patches underneath — permanently.

Beyond the Garage

Where flake systems work hard

Garages & workshops

The classic application: hot-tire proof, impact-tolerant, and forgiving of everything a working garage throws at it.

Basements & laundry rooms

Moisture-tolerant with a vapor-barrier base, and the texture stays grippy around washers and utility sinks.

Covered porches & patios

UV-stable polyaspartic won't chalk or yellow outdoors, and we spec heavier anti-slip grit for rain-exposed concrete.

Kennels & pet facilities

Seamless, scratch-resistant, and sanitizable — no grout lines for odors to live in. A favorite for vets and groomers.

Commercial back-of-house

Stockrooms and prep areas get the same system with a thicker build coat, rated for pallet jacks and rolling loads.

Stairs & steps

We coat connected steps and landings in the same blend with aggressive grit — a finished look with real traction.

How We Install

One day on site. Fifteen years of not thinking about it.

Every floor gets the same five steps. There are no shortcuts in this list, because every shortcut becomes a callback.

  1. Slab inspection & exact quote

We measure, take a moisture reading, and check for cracks, spalls, and old coatings. You get a line-item price on the spot — the number never changes after the fact.

  2. Diamond grinding — never acid etch

Industrial planetary grinders open the concrete to a CSP-2/3 profile with dust extraction. This is the step cheap installers skip, and it's why their floors peel.

  3. Repair & moisture control

Cracks are chased and filled with rigid polyurea; pits are patched flush. If the slab reads wet, we install an epoxy vapor barrier so moisture never lifts your floor.

  4. Base coat & broadcast

A pigmented base coat is rolled into the open pores, then flake or metallic pigment is applied. Full broadcast, wall to wall — no thin spots, no bare patches.

  5. Polyaspartic topcoat

A UV-stable, chemical-resistant clear coat locks everything in. Walk on it tonight, park on it in 24–48 hours, and stop thinking about your floor for 15 years.

12 months, same as cash.

Most two-car garages finance for about the price of a streaming bundle. Checking your rate takes five minutes and doesn’t touch your credit score.
